Why Control Rat

1

Spread Diseases

Rats can carry and spread diseases such as Weil's disease which is found in the urine of rats which can be fatal, and Salmonellosis (food poisoning) and Hanta virus.

2

Contaminate food

Rats can contaminate food from their urine and droppings.

3

Damage Property

With constant gnawing, rats can damage foundations, insulation, chew through floorboards, doors and pipes. Rats will also shred nearly anything for their nests, including plastic, linen and paper.

4

Allergic reactions

Rat fur and droppings can trigger allergic reactions in some people.

5

Psychological stress

The mere presence of rats in a home can cause significant stress and discomfort for people.

Signs of Rats:

1

Droppings

Rat droppings are larger than mouse droppings, which are 1-2 cm long, dark and pellet-shaped, that look like large grains of rice. These tend to be clustered in certain areas, as rats often use the same spot for their toilet needs and can leave up to 40 droppings in one night.

2

Gnaw Marks

Rats have strong teeth and can chew through steel pipes, lead pipes, brick, woodwork and electrical cables which can lead to fire hazards.

3

Smear Marks

Due to their poor eyesight, rats tend to use walls and skirting boards to get around and will use the same runs more often with grease and dirt on their bodies that leave behind brown / black markson both objects and surfaces they repeatedly go against.

4

Rat holes

Brown rats are well known for digging and excavating for shelter, food storage and nesting. They build rat burrows next to solid objects, walls or structures.

5

Rat Nest

Rats build their nest from whatever materials they find outside or inside your home, such as cardboard, insulation, cloth, steel, wool, wires, plastic and wood pieces. Messy, crumpled and shredded materials of the nest can be found in hidden areas like attics, wall cavities, basement and inside cabinets.
